Another unlicensed day care found in Hackensack

Hackensack city officials have uncovered another unlicensed day care operation.

Inspectors were checking the installation of a new fence on Clay Street near East Railroad when they noticed an extension cord running from one floor to another on a multi-family home in the area.

Once inside, the inspector found nearly a dozen children being cared for by two adults.

Officials shut down the operation and declared the home unfit for living after reportedly finding a foot of sewage backed up in the basement of the home.

The find comes a week after officials discovered 12 kids crammed into a one-bedroom apartment on Myer Street. That operation was also shut down.
