'Pat from Moonachie' prepares for eating contest

Top-ranked major league eaters will head to Trump Plaza's Beach Bar in Atlantic City this weekend to vie for the title of 'New Jersey Hot Dog Eating Champion' and the chance to compete at the 95th Annual Nathan's Famous July Fourth International Hot Dog Eating Contest, held in Coney Island, N.Y.

The Garden State native known as, "Pat from Moonachie," completed a practice attempt at the News 12 New Jersey studios this morning.

The event kicks off the summer at the Trump Plaza Hotel and is just one of many events set for this weekend.

During last year's New Jersey qualifier, Maryland's Juliet Lee stunned the crowd by consuming 30 Nathan's hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.
