Gas prices expected to drop further ahead of holiday weekend

Drivers heading out this holiday weekend can expect lower prices at the pump.

The average price for a gallon of gas in the Garden State has fallen to $2.66 while the national average is 10 cents higher at $2.76.

Gas prices were expected to top $3 per gallon by Memorial Day. Experts now say it is likely that prices have peaked just below that price.

One year ago, drivers in New Jersey were paying just $2.31 for a gallon of unleaded gasoline.
