Census worker threatened in Westfield

A census worker going door to door collecting forms was threatened by a homeowner with a gun.

Police say 79-year-old John Savoca answered his door while wearing a handgun in a holster and threatened to use it on the census worker if she came back.

Police say the female census worker had already visited the house once before.

Participation in the census is mandated by federal law.

Savoca was arrested and posted bail.
