Thousands pledge to unplug from Facebook
The uproar over privacy on Facebook is leading many New Jersey residents to quit the social networking site.
Using the website quitfacebookday.com, organizers have signed up 27,000 people who pledged to quit Facebook today because of concerns over its privacy settings.
Facebook simplified its privacy controls last week in response to the backlash among users. As part of the changes, it added a tool to make it easier for members to turn off the instant personalization service, but many say it isn't enough.
