Police: Man arrested for setting East Rutherford fire

A man has been arrested for allegedly starting a fire intentionally this morning at a home in East Rutherford. Police say the man arrested lives across the street from the home at the corner of Windsor Avenue and Laurel Place. Officials say the blaze started at around 9 a.m. Witnesses say the home was doused with gasoline and that the arsonist used a lighter to torch the home. The doorway was torched and the vinyl siding melted.The homeowners were inside the house at the time of the fire, but no one was injured.
