Police: 2 arrested for tossing Chihuahuas from moving car

Two people have been arrested and charged with tossing two Chihuahuas from a moving car in Middletown earlier this week.

Kadeesha Kelley, 29, of Keansburg and a 15-year-old juvenile are each facing eight counts of animal cruelty in the case.

A viewer who said she saw the story on News 12 New Jersey said she realized she knew the dogs' owner. The viewer says the owner claimed the dogs were stolen and the viewer said she then contacted authorities. Police say the tip from the viewer was able to help them break the case. The Monmouth County SPCA says the dogs were not stolen, although that is what one of the suspects claimed when she was first questioned. The dogs received minor injuries.Related:
