Arrest made in Linden dismembered bodies probe

Authorities say a Union City man has been arrested two months after the dismembered bodies of a man and a woman were found in Linden.

Police say 36-year-old Ruben Acosta, also known as Alejandro Mercedes, removed or concealed the bodies of the murder victims, who are believed to have been killed at their home in Union City.The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office says Acosta looks like the man seen carrying the victims' remains in surveillance video. The video was taken in Union City three days before the bodies were discovered in Linden.

The victims were identified as 48-year-old Maria Torres and her roommate, 49-year-old Lazaro Calero.Acosta is being held on $750,000 bail at the Hudson County jail.
