Report: Proposed law may bring ads to NJ toll plazas

Two members of the state Assembly have sponsored a bill that would allow commercial advertising and sponsorship on the state's toll plazas, including the Turnpike, Garden State Parkway and Atlantic City Expressway, according to an NJ.com report.

The bill, co-sponsored by Assemblywoman Pamela R. Lampitt and Assemblyman Craig J. Coughlin, was unanimously approved, 10-0, by the Assembly's transportation committee last month, said the report.

Drivers along the state's toll roads tell News 12 New Jersey they wouldn't mind the advertising as long as it benefited the taxpayers.

The bill now heads to Speaker Sheila Oliver, who will decide if it will progress to a floor vote.
