Gov. Christie holds town hall meeting in Roxbury

Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) continued his series of town hall meetings today at the Roxbury Township municipal complex in the Investor Savings Performing Arts Center.

Christie continued to make his push for a constitutional amendment that will create a 2.5-percent cap on the increase in the property tax levy by municipal, school and county taxes. There would also be a 2.5-percent cap on spending for state government operations.

Under the plan, local governments could ask their voters to exceed the levy cap through referenda.

The mayor of Roxbury attended the town hall and addressed the status of legislation to reform affordable housing in the state.
