Gov. Christie to hold town hall meeting today

Gov. Chris Christie will continue his series of town hall meetings today at 11:00 a.m. in Perth Amboy at the Alexander F. Jankowski Community Center.

Christie continues to make his push for a constitutional amendment that will create a 2.5 percent property tax increase cap for municipal, school and county taxes. The plan also calls for a 2.5 percent cap on spending for state government operations.

According to the plan, local governments could ask their voters to exceed the levy cap through referendums.
