2 arrests made in Freehold double homicide

Authorities have made two arrests in the murder of two adults on South Street in Freehold Borough yesterday.

Eyewitnesses say one of the two victims left the house to get help after suffering a slashed throat and several stab wounds to the chest and abdomen. The victim was given emergency medical care on the street, and then taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune where he died.

The second victim died in the house, according to neighbors.

Crime scene investigators were seen entering the home at 109 South Street yesterday afternoon. Authorities shut down South Street in both directions between Jerseyville Avenue and Institute Street for several hours as officials investigated the scene.

Authorities have not released the names of the victims. Monmouth County Prosecutor Luis Valentin will have more to say about the double homicide at a noon news conference in Freehold.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Monmouth County prosecutor at 1-800-533-7443.
