Cops: 2 arrested for double murder in Freehold

Authorities believe two people brutally murdered yesterday in Freehold Borough were victims of an armed robbery.

Yun Juan Chen, 28, and her brother Yao Chen, 39, were gruesomely killed by multiple stab wounds at their home on South Street yesterday, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Luis A. Valentin.

Dong Biao Lin, 24, and Zeng Liang Chen, 20, both of New York City, have been charged with murder, armed robbery and weapons charges in connection with the killings. Authorities say that the two armed robbers broke in yesterday evening while the two victims were inside and the rest of the family was at work.

Eyewitnesses say they saw Yao Chen stumble out of the house in an attempt to get help after being bound at the hands and stabbed. Chen collapsed on the street, where he was given emergency medical care, and then taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune where he died. Yao Chen's sister, Yun Juan Chen, was found dead inside the home with multiple stab wounds. Investigators describe the scene as a "total bloodbath."

Authorities say the family owned the Golden Taste Restaurant on Jackson Street in town.

One of the men arrested is a former employee of the family. Authorities believe the men targeted the family because they thought there were large sums of cash inside the home.

The men are scheduled to appear at the Monmouth County Courthouse tomorrow afternoon.
