College students search for unmarked graves in Rockaway

College students are trying to search for the graves of Revolutionary War heroes behind Rockaway Presbyterian Church. Many of the war's patriots and soldiers were buried there, but markers have disappeared. Robert Nichols, who is the sexton with the church's cemetery, has brought in a team from Ithaca College to try to determine what is underneath the ground. The college students are led by Michael Rogers, a physics professor from Teaneck. The students will use machines that can measure magnetic forces, including nails in coffins, and disturbed soil that could indicate a burial shaft.
