2 suspects in Freehold double murder due in court
The two men accused of brutally killing a man and his sister in Freehold on Wednesday are due in court today.
Dong Biao Lin, 24, and Zeng Liang Chen, 20, both of New York City, have each been charged with two counts of murder. The men also face one count each of armed robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and armed burglary.
Yao Chen, 39, and his sister, Yun Juan Chen, 28, were gruesomely killed, each with multiple stab wounds at their home on South Street yesterday, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Luis A. Valentin.
The family owns the Golden Taste Restaurant on Jackson Street in town. One of the suspects, Dong Biao Lin, is a former employee of the family.
Authorities believe the men targeted the family because they believed there were large sums of cash stashed inside the home.
The men are scheduled to appear at 11:00 a.m. at the Monmouth County Courthouse before Superior Court Judge Thomas F. Scully.
