Cops search for man who abducted, assaulted minor female

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and New Brunswick Police Director Peter Mangarella announced today that police are searching for a man who allegedly abducted a minor female and sexually assaulted her in New Brunswick last week.

The female, whose age has not been released, was outside her home at the Raritan Crossing apartment complex on Manor Court around 6:00 p.m. on June 14 when she was approached by the unidentified man, according to a release from the county prosecutor's office.

Authorities say the man took the girl to a secluded area near the apartment complex and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the area. The girl subsequently told her parents, who then contacted police.

Anyone with information on the assault, or who may be able to identify the man in the sketch, is asked to call Detective James at (732) 745-5200, or Investigator Terpanick at (732) 745-3600.
