Plainfield sees spike in violence

Police say there has been a string of shootings in Plainfield since mid-April.

The latest shooting took the life of Kasean Johnson. Johnson is the only fatality out of all of the shootings. Police say it's the latest in a streak of gang-related shootings in the city over the past two months.

One resident that identified herself as Pamela told News 12 New Jersey that she feels like she can no longer bring her grandchildren outside or sit on her porch.

At a City Hall news conference, Mayor Sharon Robinson-Briggs called on parents for help. He hopes that if community members share information, it will lead to arrests.
