Heat warnings were in effect for NJ

Residents around the Garden State dealt with another day of hot temperatures and high humidity.

News 12 New Jersey meteorologist Dave Curren says temperatures reached the mid-90s today in Newark and Trenton. Temperatures are expected to fall tonight to the upper 60s and lower 70s. It will also be less humid.

An excessive heat warning remains in effect until 8 p.m. for Mercer, Gloucester, Camden and northwest Burlington counties.

Drier and slightly cooler air is expected across the region on Friday and Saturday.

People are urged to drink plenty of water and take breaks while exercising or working outdoors.
