(AP) - New Jersey Senate Republicans have hit asnag over budget-related legislation.

Democratic Senate President Steve Sweeney says he won't let theGOP swap out one member of the Senate Budget Committee.

Republicans want to substitute Sen. Tom Kean Jr. for Sen.Michael Doherty because Doherty opposes four bills that raise taxesor fees. The bills are part of the overall budget package.

The budget committee advanced Gov. Chris Christie's $29.4billion budget in a 7-6 vote Wednesday night. But committeeChairman Paul Sarlo delayed consideration of four related bills togive Republicans time to muster support.
