Sinkhole causes mess on New Jersey Turnpike

A sinkhole on a busy stretch of the New Jersey Turnpike caused major traffic today.

The two-by-three foot sinkhole opened up near Hightstown, about a mile south of exit 8.

Traffic was backed up for miles as people traveling to Six Flags amusement park or merging onto I-195 converged just before the sinkhole repairs.

Work crews had to close one lane for several hours to repair the lane.
