Summer heat continues to scorch Garden State

meteorologist Dave Curren says temperatures reached 100 degrees in some parts of the state today.

People are urged to drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks when outdoors. Lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing is also recommended for those who will be outdoors.

A cold front will push into the Garden State early Wednesday and it should remain comfortable until hot weather returns for the July 4 holiday weekend.
