More heat hits the Garden State

Hot, hazy and possibly humid weather will remain in the Garden State all week, with temperatures each day in the upper 90s.

An excessive heat warning has been issued for Mercer County until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

News 12 New Jersey meteorologist Dave Curren says Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be the hottest days, with highs reaching 100 to 102 degrees in parts of the state.

People are urged to drink plenty of water, use sunscreen and limit outdoor activities during the day. People should also check on elderly relatives and neighbors and to make sure pets are properly cared for.
