Temperatures ease after scorching heat wave

People around New Jersey are feeling some relief from the hot, hazy and humid weather today.

News 12 New Jersey meteorologist James Gregorio says temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to upper 80s for most parts of the state.

Isolated, slow-moving and heavy downpours are passing through southern and central parts of the state today, says Gregorio. Saturday there will be more rain around New Jersey.

This week's hot and dry conditions have prompted New Jersey American Water Company to issue a mandatory water restriction to its customers in Monmouth County.
