New Brunswick police are cracking down on unsafe cab drivers

New Brunswick police have come up with a new system to crack down on unsafe cab drivers.

Lieutenant William Milligan says the new system determines which cab drivers will have their licenses to operate a cab renewed. According to Milligan, some people have accidents, multiple moving violations and license suspensions on their driving records. Milligan says these people should not be driving the public around in taxis.

Police say up to 20 of the city's 112 licensed cab drivers had their licenses pulled recently under the new system. Some of those drivers appealed the decision and got their operating licenses back.
