Perth Amboy man accused of fatally stabbing woman is arraigned in court

A Perth Amboy man accused of murdering a woman was arraigned in Middlesex County court Monday.

Authorities say Graciano Martinez Rosales, 19, brutally stabbed 38-year-old Carolyn Arrington in the face, neck and chest and left her for dead in a basement. Police found her body in the basement of an apartment building on Bertrand Avenue last week, but they believe it had been there for several days.

Investigators are saying little about the suspect but do reveal that he and Arrington were acquaintances and had a fight.

Rosales is facing murder charges and is being held on $1 million bail. A trial date has not yet been set.
