Rutgers graduate and Clifton native makes ultimate sacrifice during battle in Iraq

(08/14/04) CLIFTON - Rutgers graduate and Clifton native Michael Tarlavsky made the ultimate sacrifice during battle in Iraq on Thursday.

The 30-year-old U.S. Army captain was killed during a raid. Tarlavsky, a career soldier, was on his second tour of duty in Iraq. His family says he loved serving his country.

In Clifton, flags have been lowered to half-staff in the soldier's honor. He leaves behind a wife and a ten-month-old son.
