Bank in Passaic County donates money to Paterson Education Fund

A bank in Passaic County has donated $15,000 to the Paterson Education Fund.

The bank in Totowa donated the money to help inner city school students graduate. The executive director of the education fund says the money will go towards enhancing the city's smaller schools. She feels the larger institutions can be impersonal for some students and are contributing to a lower graduation rate.

Over the past few years, 22 smaller public high schools in Paterson have developed. Officials say the success rate of students is very high for these schools.

But school officials say they would like to see more businesses, like the bank, contributing to the education of Paterson students.
