SummerStock 2004 held in Trenton to benefit families of hero NJ police officers

(08/22/04) TRENTON - An end-of-summer party charity event was held Sunday to benefit the families of New Jersey police officers who were either killed in the line of duty or permanently disabled. SummerStock 2004 was held Sunday on Route 29 and South Warren Street in Trenton.

The doors of Cat-Man-Du in Waterfront Park were opened all day Sunday. A $10 donation was required to be part of the festivities. Close to 3,000 people are expected to attend the event, which was sponsored by Officer Down, Inc.

Six different families will benefit from the money raised at SummerStock this year. Eight families split the proceeds last year. Half of the money is used to help with college costs for the hero officers' children.
