Kendall Park woman on life support, husband accused of running her over

A newly married woman is in critical condition, and her husband of three weeks is accused of running her over Tuesday night.

Police say 37-year-old Samander Dabas and his new wife Renu, 21, had an argument in the parking lot of the South Brunswick Square Mall on Route One. According to police, when Renu tried to walk away, her husband allegedly drove his mini-van over a curb to hit her.

Renu, who just arrived in the United States from India less than a month ago, is on life support at Princeton Medical Center. Samander is being held at Middlesex County Jail on $500,000 bail. He was charged with aggravated assault, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated.Police are still investigating this incident.
