Kendall Park man accused of running over wife, leaves her in critical condition

A Kendall Park woman remains in critical condition Thursday after a domestic dispute at the South Brunswick Square Mall lead her husband to run over her.

Police say 37-year-old Samander Dabas had been drinking Tuesday night before he and his wife Renu left Dollar city, where they both work. According to police, Dabas hit a tree as he tried to drive out of the parking lot, and that's when couple started arguing. Police say when Renu attempted to leave the area, Dabas drove his mini-van over a curb and struck his wife.

Dabas was charged with aggravated assault and driving while intoxicated. However, if his wife who remains on life support does not survive, those charges could become more serious.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance videos from stores at the mini-mall that may have captured the assault. They ask anyone with information about the incident to call the South Brunswick police at (732) 329-4646.
