State DEP claims company in Parsippany dumped toxins in Lake Intervale
The state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) says Lake Intervale in Parsippany is polluted and claim a local company is responsible.
The state DEP has filed a suit against Adron Incorporated, which makes flavorings for soda, cake mixes and wine. They claim the company has been dumping cancer-causing toxins into the lake since 1979. According to DEP officials, the pollutants have not only damaged the lake, but have seeped into the groundwater as well.
DEP officials say they have a two-part cleanup plan and will be asking a court to order Adron to pay for it.
