Some Asbury Park apartment tenants say new drug dealers have moved in

Some tenants at Minot Gardens apartment complex say drug dealing and prostitution is out of control at their complex in Asbury Park.

Approximately four weeks ago, federal agents arrested a major drug dealer and dismantled the so-called Asbury Park Organization at Minot Gardens on the corner of Third and Heck. But some neighbors say new drug dealers have already moved in. They say cars drive up and down the street, stopping at one of the buildings to buy drugs. Residents also say several prostitutes work out of the same building.

Asbury Park Police Director Louis Jordan admits that gangs are a problem in the area, and the police are aware of the other drug dealers out there. Jordan also says the city's narcotics task force is working with the county prosecutor's office to crack down on the drug dealers.
