South Paterson man killed, police searching for hit-and-run driver

A man from South Paterson was struck and killed on his way to work Wednesday morning. Police are now searching for the hit-and-run driver.

Police say 53-year-old Farid Khater was hit by one car and knocked into the path of another car while trying to cross Getty Avenue. They say the first car never stopped, but the driver of the second car did.

Khater's family wants the person who hit him brought to justice. Paterson police are asking anyone with information about the accident to call (973) 321-111.
