Hurricane Frances causes concern for NJ residents with relatives in Florida

Hurricane Frances could be the most powerful storm to hit Florida in more than 10 years. While New Jersey is not in the path of the storm, people have other worries about relatives and vacation homes in the Sunshine state. Some New Jersey residents vacationing in Florida had time to board up their homes and return to the Garden State. But the homeowners who weren't able to get down south feel helpless. They say the only thing they can do is call their Florida neighbors to get updates. As the hurricane inches closer and closer to Florida, hundreds of thousands of residents are making a mass exodus to higher ground.
