Governor McGreevey resumes public schedule

Governor Jim McGreevey (D-NJ) continues to show no signs of leaving office before his self-imposed deadline of November 15. McGreevey, 47, announced August 12 that he is gay and would resign from office because he had an extramarital affair with a man.The Democrat would have to resign by Friday's midnight deadline to allow for a special November election to replace him. It seems one decision has already been made; McGreevey plans to keep his word and will step down on his terms November 15. At that time, State Senate President Dick Codey (D-West Ornage) will become acting governor.
