Pequannock outlaws firing paintball guns in public parks

In Pequannock, kids are sometimes seen ducking into woods and public parks for a game of paintball. However, town officials have made it illegal for anyone to fire a paintball gun in a public park.

The owner of ABC Paintball, an official playing field in West Milford, says the popular war game can be dangerous if the proper protection isn't used. When people come to an official playing field there are rules to follow, masks to wear and referees to supervise the shoot-outs.

Now that the town has outlawed the guns in its parks people caught firing one may find themselves surrendering to the police. Local residents can still play on official fields.
