New Jersey Transit expands Hudson-Bergen line with trio of new stops

(09/07/04) WEEHAWKEN - New Jersey Transit began operating three new stops on its Hudson-Bergen light rail line Tuesday morning.

The light rail will now stop at two additional locations in Hoboken and the UBS Financial Building in Weehawken. A spokesperson for UBS says the Weehawken stop, located at Lincoln Harbor, will ease the burden on commuters from Jersey City. Company representatives also say the new destinations will help company personnel get to and from various meetings.

The new destinations will bring the total number of light rail stops between Bayonne and Weehawken to 20. New Jersey Transit officials say the ultimate plan is to connect the light rail from Bayonne to locations in Bergen County.
