Raritan North, Asbury South toll plazas to be torn down

For drivers, the Raritan North and Asbury South toll plazas will soon be a memory. The New Jersey Turnpike authority has eliminated the tolls at those two plazas and will eventually tear them down.

Turnpike officials say this will cut down on traffic and help commuters save time. However the toll has not been eliminated. The turnpike authority doubled the toll to 70 cents in the opposite direction.

Officials are confident that drivers will see a benefit. There are also plans to install Express E-Zpass lanes at the tollbooths.
