East Hanover officials to decide on a new plan to redevelop land off Route 10

Residents in East Hanover who are concerned about a proposed Wegmans and a condominium were able to rest a little easier Monday night. East Hanover Mayor William Agnellio and four other council members voted unanimously at a town council meeting to take another look at how the land could be redeveloped in another way.

The supermarket and condos were going to be developed on the 30-acre site at the intersection of Mount Pleasant Avenue and New Murray Road off Route 10. Many residents believe if anything is built, it will increase the traffic problems.

At the town council meeting, residents were able to voice their concerns about the proposed plan. Mayor Agnellio feels it is time to scrap the proposed plan and possibly come up with another plan for the property.
