Some Stanhope parents upset their children do not have a bus to get to school

Some parents in Stanhope are upset that their children do not have a bus to take them to Valley Road School.

One parent says in past year her children have ridden the bus to school, but this year they have to walk. Many parents are concerned about their childrens safety as they walk along the busy roads because there are no sidewalks.

Nicholas Brown, the schools principal and acting superintendent, says school officials are doing everything they can to ensure child safety with new signs and charted pathways. He says the courtesy busing was cut from the budget in order to preserve the academic program.
