Dogs on the loose in Old Bridge and close to the Sayreville border

Dogs on the loose in Old Bridge and close to the Sayreville border are causing concern among many residents.

Several dogs have been spotted near Poor Farm Road and in an industrial area on the Sayreville-Old Bridge border. Authorities do not know if the dogs are dangerous. Animal control officers say though the dogs might not be vicious in nature, any dog can become very desperate when trying to survive.

Animal control officials say dogs that are on the loose and hungry might eat any food that is left outside. They recommend that residents should not leave their pets tied to chains outside unattended. Animal control authorities ask anyone who sees the dogs on the loose to call the Old Bridge police at (732) 721-4000 or the Old Bridge Animal Control at (732) 721-5600 x6300.
