Lacey School District looks for full-time police presence in each school

Police could soon have a more permanent presence in Lacey Township schools. The district is looking at staffing a full-time police officer at each of its six schools for increased security. Officers already stop by every school in the district at least once a day, but Lacey High Schools vice principal says all-day availability would be a big asset. The Lacey police chief says there arent enough officers to staff every school right now. However, he said stationing one officer at the High School full time is a possibility. Police and school officials still have to discuss more details before the plan becomes a reality.
