Environmental inspections being done on Glen Rock's Borough Hall
Environmental inspections are being done on Glen Rocks Borough Hall this week because of potential health concerns.
Many people who work in the building say the walls and ceilings have mold and mildew. They also say some of the spots are peeling and there are leaks throughout the building. The president of PBA Local 110 says some of the police officers in the building have upper repository infections. But he cannot say for sure if the health problems are connected with the poor working conditions.
The borough recognizes the problems and hired a local environmental outfit to do a complete inspection of the building. In past inspections, the environmental officials have found mold and other problems.
The building located in Harding Plaza was built in 1929 and houses the borough hall, local police, the court and custodians. Borough officials have a long term plan to renovate the entire structure. The mayor has planned a meeting Thursday to discuss the redesign and relocation of the staff.
