Family in Elizabeth trying to find missing 16-year-old girl

A family in Elizabeth is desperately trying to find a 16-year-old girl missing since Friday. Authorities believe she ran away from home.

Stephany Miranda was last seen at Elizabeth High School on Martin Luther King Plaza. Police believe the Bible she took with her may be the clue that leads to her being found. Her parents say Miranda recently became strict in her religious beliefs. They add she started fasting and isolating herself from her family and friends.

According to Mirandas family, she attended services at Wings of Faith Church in Linden and Hallelujah Christian Church in Union. Officials from both churches are cooperating with police and hope she comes forward for help.

Anyone with information on Mirandas disappearance should contact Elizabeth police at (908) 558-2111.
