Grandmother arrested for dealing drugs at an unlicensed Jersey City day care center

A grandmother in Jersey City was arrested Tuesday for dealing drugs from the apartment where she ran an unlicensed day care center.

Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio says 51-year-old Eneida Lopez had a significant amount of cocaine and some marijuana in her home. DeFazio also says six children, including Lopezs own grandchildren, were in the grandmothers care when officers arrested her.

Officials say Lopez was already out on bail for charges of selling drugs at her home daycare center in February. She is being held in the county jail without bail on drug and endangerment charges. Lopezs grandchildren have been removed from her home and placed with family members. She faces up to ten years in prison if convicted on the most recent charges.
