Witness sees teen thrown into car trunk in Point Pleasant; police say could be prank

An eyewitness reported seeing two young men throw a teen into the trunk of a car in Point Pleasant Borough. However, police say the abduction could be a prank.

The eyewitness says the abduction happened near the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Rogers Road. He says the teens hands were bound and his mouth was taped shut.

New information from a second eyewitness leads police to believe the abduction was an elaborate hoax. The second witness reported seeing three teens getting out of a similar car, laughing just a block away from the incident.

Police say the kids involved may have gotten the idea from the MTV show, Jackass. However, MTV officials say the show has not aired for more than two years. Police are still investigating the possibility that the incident was an actual abduction, but they say almost all of the evidence points to a prank.
