Police say group of masked men with a gun invaded a Holmdel home

Police say a group of masked men armed with a gun invaded a Holmdel home Tuesday.

According to police, the three men forced their way into the home, tied up the housekeeper, who was home alone, and removed a large safe from the residence. Police say the men may have stolen as much as $1 million worth of jewelry.

Holmdel police have asked the victims identities be concealed while they conduct an investigation. They urge homeowners to use alarms and find more secure places for their valuables.

The homeowners say they now have a 24-hour surveillance system watching their home. Police say the housekeeper is shaken up, but otherwise fine.
