Madison mayor considers automated parking garage to solve parking problems
Many residents in Madison say trying to find a parking spot is becoming a problem. In response to the complaints, Madison Mayor Woody Kerkeslager says the town is considering an automated parking garage.
The automated parking garage is a mechanical system that automatically stacks cars in a compact storage vault. Kerkeslager says the garage will take up less space and is more environmentally friendly. He also adds the new garages remove the fear factors of walking in a dark garage.
Though residents say parking is a problem, some feel the automated garage is not a necessity for the town. Madison officials say they plan to look at several other options.
