Bogota parents receive result of air quality test at Bixby Elementary School

Parents in Bogota, concerned about the air quality at their children's school, received an update at Monday nights board of education meeting. Last week, air problems at the Bixby Elementary School caused a number of students and teachers to become ill. While many parents took their kids out of school, Maura Gillespie let her second grader stay in class. She figured the students just had a bad reaction to dust in the air. Her assumptions were justified as school board officials released results of an air quality study. The test results confirm there is dust in the air but the levels are acceptable. The report also listed recommendations on how to improve the air quality. District officials say they've already implemented the recommendations.
