Local lawmaker trying to clear streets of day laborers in Lakewood
Some Lakewood residents say day laborers cover some of the streets including Clifton Avenue. One local lawmaker has come up with a plan to try and clear the streets of the day laborers.
Committeeman Robert Singer wants to put a muster-zone, a gathering area for day laborers, behind the Lakewood Community Center. Singer says day laborers would have a roof over their heads, portable bathrooms, and maybe even heaters in the winter.
Many residents say the muster-zone is a great idea and hope that it will clear the streets of the workers.
